Breast Cancer Helpline

ABCD is pleased to inform you: After Breast Cancer Diagnosis’ expanded and enhanced breast cancer helpline is up and running (1-800-977-4121).  Currently hours of service are Monday through Friday from 9am–5pm with plans in the works to ultimately be a 24/7 helpline service.

ABCD’s helpline offers the following services to callers:

  • Reliable information relating to breast cancer issues
  • Referrals to resources and services not provided by ABCD
  • Personalized research to locate hard to find resources
  • Immediate response by survivors

The Helpline works in conjunction with ABCD’s signature service of one-to-one mentoring, custom matching breast cancer patients, their families and friends:

  • All ABCD Mentors are trained and professionally supported survivors and co-survivors.
  • Mentor matches are not only based on similar diagnoses and treatment plans but on life circumstances, focusing on what is most important to the Participant.
  • Mentor matching is available anytime during the breast cancer journey, from diagnosis to treatment and beyond.
  • Participants phone in or are referred to ABCD through a breast clinician (form enclosed).
  • Matches are made within 48 hours.
  • Each Participant receives a customized Participant Portfolio.
  • ABCD staff follows up with both the Participant and the Mentor regularly until the match is closed.
  • Our service is phone-based and is available to anyone, anywhere.
  • Our service is free.

ABCD is an information and emotional support organization making us a great asset for all survivorship care programs.  Additional information regarding ABCD’s services is available at 414-977-1780, or on our web site

The Wisconsin Pink Shawl Initiative has members that participate as ABCD Mentors.
